Google Analytics: Accessing the Event Tracking section of Google Analytics |
|||||
Google "Event Tracking" is provided by Google as an enhancement of Google Analytics. The "Event Tracking" feature allows Google to track events that happen within any Flash file. In order for the tracking to take place special code needs to be inside each Flash file you wish to track.
We have already integrated this unique Google code into the 3D Issue Software. At the point of creating a new digital publication you are given the opportunity to enter your unique Google Analytics ID number. Your id number can be found on the main page of your Google Analytics account. You will be given a new ID for each new site or profile you track and it will more than likely look similar to the number pattern below: UA-XXXXXX-X Once you create a publication using your unique ID it may take some time, from 24 hours up to 7 days, before results begin to show up at Google Analytics. In order to see your "Event Tracking" under Google Analytics you can select the "Content" section. You'll see the new section called "Event Tracking" it will look similar to the image below: *if you do not see the "Event Tracking" section under content then don't worry. This means that Google has not yet turned on the Event Tracking section for you, but you can still access this data regardless. After logging into your Google Analytics account and selecting the report you wish to view, you can then click on the link below to access your own "Event Tracking" section: https://www.google.com/analytics/reporting/events Please note that if your not logged into your Google Analytics account and you have not already selected the report or profile you wish to view this link will NOT work. You must follow those two steps first. Even though the events may be hidden, you can still access them by typing in the exact URL or location of the "Event Tracking" reports. This is only temporary and once Google activate all accounts this modification should no longer be necessary. |
